STATE OF THE PROGRAM ADDRESS

To our current and future players, families, and supporters of Gator Hockey,

As we close the chapter on our 20th season, we take a moment to reflect with pride on what the Gators Hockey Program has become and where it is headed. For two decades, Standley Lake High School Hockey has stood as a model of excellence—committed not only to competitive success on the ice, but to the development of student-athletes who thrive academically, athletically, and in life beyond the rink.

Year after year, we have watched our players grow into leaders, teammates, and individuals who carry the values of this program into their futures. The success of Gators Hockey is not measure  solely in wins and losses, but in the character, resilience, and achievements of the young men and women who have worn the jersey.

This past spring has brought both opportunity and challenge. We have been engaged in extensive conversations and agreements surrounding co-ops and building unified programs with neighboring high schools and school districts. While these discussions began with a shared vision and straightforward intentions, they have evolved into more complex situations than originally anticipated.

Despite these challenges, our commitment remains clear. For the next two seasons, Standley Lake High School (SLHS) and the Hyland Hills Hockey Association (HHHA) will continue to work hand in hand, ensuring that we provide the best possible high school hockey experience for every athlete in our community. This partnership remains a cornerstone of our program and a key to our continued success.

At the same time, we remain dedicated to working collaboratively with the other school districts involved in the original co-op discussions. Our goal is to reestablish that original agreement once the upcoming CHSAA cycle is complete, creating a stronger and more unified future for high school hockey in our area.

In the immediate future, we are excited to return to 5A competition. This move represents both a challenge and an opportunity—one that we embrace with confidence and pride. Gators Hockey has always risen to meet the moment, and we look forward to continuing that tradition at the highest level.

We are also excited to be part of the introduction and growth of girl’s hockey. We recognize th incredible momentum in this area of the sport, and the future is undeniably bright. As a program, w are committed to being part of that growth—supporting opportunities, development, and access for female athletes in our community.

AS WE MOVE FORWARD, ONE THING REMAINS UNCHANGED:

     WE ARE GATOR HOCKEY.

 WE COMPETE WITH PRIDE AND INTEGRITY.

     WE SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER.

 AND WE WILL DEFEND THE SWAMP.

Thank you to our players, families, coaches, and community for your continued support and belief in this program. The next chapter of Standley Lake Hockey is just beginning, and we are excited to write it together.

Yours in Hockey Excellence,

The Entire Gator Hockey Staff
